On Wednesday, November 20, 188 people gathered at the High School in Springfield, VT for it’s 6th Annual Empty Bowl Dinner. The proceeds benefitted the Springfield Family Center Food Shelf and Springfield Art & Historical Society. Guests purchased a dinner of soup, pasta, and bread served in a handmade ceramic bowl, which was theirs to keep. The Springfield High School Culinary Class prepared the food using ingredients donated by local businesses. Most of the bowls were made by students of Springfield High School. The clay was donated through the Okemo Community Challenge Grant, and Melissa Howe from Endless Creations Pottery helped with the glazing and firing. Dinner was followed by a performance by the Springfield High School Chorus, Madrigal Singers and Wind Ensemble. The event, organized by SHS art teacher Lisa Murray, was a huge success!
